Twenty-three year old AJ Starr grew up on a farm in northeast Alabama. He was born with Cerebral Palsy. The love and support of the entire Starr family in his hometown Centre was an important factor in his youth. AJ received his bachelor degree in May 2014 from The University of Alabama where he is on the football equipment staff. AJ is currently pursuing his master’s degree.
In late 2013, AJ’s life story received national attention and acclaim when it was featured on ESPN.
The Real AJ Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of The Real AJ Foundation is to support AJ Starr as he promotes Cerebral Palsy awareness. AJ wants to reach others, not unlike himself, in need of assistance and work to make their lives much better.

Two important quotes from ESPN’s “AJ and AJ: A Special Bond” have been highlighted by the Foundation. Both inspirational, McCarron refers to Starr as, “…the real AJ” and Starr humbly says, “I just keep going.”

The All-Star Game began in 2011, and has since been a major success. This game, played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, will offer 300 of Georgia’s premier athletes to showcase talents in front of top college recruiters. A portion of all funds raised through the all-star game will be donated to the foundation, in order to support individuals with Cerebral Palsy awareness and other disabilities.
